My 4 year old came home from pre-school the other day and said to me, "Mommy, you always fill my bucket!" (He sure knows how to fill MY bucket!) His teacher had read a book called "Have You Filled A Bucket Today: A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids" by Carol McCloud and David Messing. I love the concept. He now talks about "the bucket" all the time... and how important it is to fill others buckets instead of emptying them.
When we decided to create our own Valentine cards, he made the following picture and story (which he dictated to me) for his big sister who is far away at college. I had to share this "bucket filling" story.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!

He is so cute!! ! I too, have a four years old, but it's a girl. Lovely story, is that the story the teacher told them at preschool? I find this "bucket filling" concept quite interesting... could you let me know if you may know the title of the book? Ciao xxx
Hi Penny. I found your blog through your facebook page. I love the whole "bucket" concept. When we take attendance every morning in the special education class I work in, we ask each of the children "Is your bucket full?" What I love is how they in turn will check in with us throughout the day asking us about our "bucket". I love your blog - your jewelry is beautiful!

Hi Valeria, Thanks! My son wrote the story on the card but he was inspired by the children's book about "filling the bucket" which is called "Have You Filled A Bucket Today: A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids" by Carol McCloud and David Messing. It's a great book! You can order it on Amazon.com.
Thanks Shannon! I'm glad you found my blog! Hope your well! xo PK
